Deanne Cheuk

Deanne Cheuk is an illustrator, graphic and pattern designer and art director who uses both hand-drawn and digital methods to create her work. Cheuk’s work is often in monotones or in a limited palette of colours and ranges from tessellating geometric shapes to delicately interwoven illustrations of plants, birds and women.

In her illustration and art direction work she often uses collage as a medium, but not so much in her pattern work. Her textile designs have been used on many different products, and several have been developed into textiles for fashion.  She is particularly interesting to me for her ability to produce such a diverse range of work, and for the flexibility of her work’s uses.  I always feel that illustration and pattern should be linked.
